Estonia flag being a heavily forested country has three horizontal strips of equal width, height and flag is of ratio 7:11, blue color represents earlier glory period before lost of independence or ancestral independence, black represents state of sorrow where independence lost, and white represents hope for better future. There is another poetic interpretation where blue represents happening sky of ancestral time, white represents purity, hard work and commitment, black represents state of country where independence is lost.
