Laos flag is of 2:3 ratio, where the horizontal stripes are of 1:2:1 ratio by width. The disc at center of flag occupies 0.8 height of blue strip. The red color signifies blood shed for gain of independence, blue represents Mekong river and white represents moon above Mekong river, white disk also promises bright future for country.
