North Korea flag is of 1:2 ratio, where the flag is colored in blue, white and red stripes. The red star represent communist nature, The disk recalls the taegeuk found on the flag of the Korean Empire, and represents the opposing principles of nature. The red stripe expresses revolutionary traditions. The two blue stripes stand for sovereignty, peace and friendship. The white stripes symbolize purity.
